Nearly every town in America has at least one American Legiont Hall. It’s a place where members congregate. The American Legion not only works on behalf of American veterans benefits, but they also donate much money and many man hours to their individual communities. These are the men and women that put their lives on the line for their country and continue to give. Stop in and say “THANKS”!! Buy them a drink or two, that’s the least we can do.

Lyrics

AMERICAN LEGION HALL
Chad Lee / Dess Fletcher

Private Thompson’s on his barstool tellin’ jokes
Sergeant Brian’s out front raisin’ the flag up the pole
Shootin’ eight ball pool is Jimmy, he’s a World War 2 vet
And Major Ronnie’s at the jukebox in his biker POW MIA vest
The middle of the afternoon with nothin’ better to do

CHORUS:
Ya’ll come in and sit down
Buy em’ a drink or two or five rounds
Pay your dues in your town
Just say thanks for our free ground
You can even dress down, have yourself a ball
Down at your local AMERICAN LEGION HALL

There’s a poker game in the back room and the stakes are getting’ high
Colonel Hapgood said good luck boys this hand is mine
And Ol’ Fred’s smokin’ barbeque chicken the dinner special tomorrow night
While there’s a whole troop outside just smokein’ cuz they can’t smoke inside
It’s twelve AM with all their friends

CHORUS:

BRIDGE:
In every town there’s a local hall
Where hero’s sit around and talk
About their scars and the friends they’ve lost
Every night they raise a toast to them all

CHORUS:
Ya’ll come in and sit down
Buy em’ a drink or two or five rounds
Pay your dues in your town
Just say thanks for our free ground YEA

Ya’ll come in and sit down
