Since the Korean War over 290,000 soldiers came home with physical wounds. Approximately 300,000 veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars alone. Nearly 20% of the returning forces are likely to suffer from either Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or major depression, and these numbers continue to climb. There are more than 5.5 million U.S. veterans living with a disability. The Veterans Administration estimates that more than 260,000 veterans are sleeping on the streets every given night of the year. Approximately 1.5 million veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Cold War, the Vietnam War, Grenada, Panama, Afghanistan, and Iraq are currently considered at risk of homelessness due to poverty and lack of support networks. It’s our duty to help BEYOND THE BATTLEFIELD.

Lyrics

BEYOND THE BATTLE FIELD
Chad Lee / Dess Fletcher

I know you know our freedom don't come free
So many sacrificed for you and me
To keep the glory waving in our flag
Comes a big price tag

CHORUS:
For all that fought all that fell
And somehow survived through hell
And made it home
Their left with scars and vivid dreams
from all the pain and war they've seen
Sometimes feel all alone
Yea, their pain is real, and we can help them heal
BEYOND THE BATTLE FIELD

I believe that you believe in giving back
to the ones that gave their all sometimes gave more than that
And we the people all should stand
To give our Warriors a hand

CHORUS:

BRIDGE:
Yea, right here at home
Where they still fight for their lives
We can't leave it un-won

CHORUS:
For all that fought all that fell
Somehow survived through hell
America, welcome them home
Take their scars and vivid dreams
From all the pain and war they've seen
And don't let them feel alone
Cuz the pain is real and we can help them heal
Yea, the pain is real and we can help them heal
BEYOND THE BATTLE FIELD
